It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a truly wonderful man who was loved by all who knew him. A man of honor, integrity and loyalty, matched only by his generosity and sharp wit. He was a friendly, authentic soul without pretense, who made everyone he met, regardless of age or background, feel at ease. William J. Oliver, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Suzanne (Piette) Oliver. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late William J. and Angele (Frissyn) Oliver.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, he lived a long, full life doing all of the things he loved...most notably… golfing, spending time with family and friends, and vacationing at his favorite place on earth… Old Orchard Beach, ME.
In death, he is reunited with his beloved wife Suzie and brother Norman, leaving behind his four children, son William Oliver (Claudia), daughters, Christine Newman (Mark), Sharon Oliver-Kelley (Michael) and Nancy Devlin; a grandson Kyle Newman (Jackie); great-granddaughters Kyla and Jordan and his furry blue-eyed companion Sasha.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Centre of New England and Continuum Hospice for the love, compassion and kindness they showed our beloved father.
